plan | it were appointed to provide initial ideas for their scheme, and then produce the planning, building regulation drawings and a 3d visualisation to give the clients a real look at how their works would translate into reality. due to the scale of the rear extension extreme care had to be given in ensuring the design could be built, the client was adamant that the space was to be clear and un-interupted, with lots of natural light.
tThe rear extension accommodates a large open plan kitchen which looks onto the family dining area, the rear elevation is all glass bi-fold doors so that in the warmer months the whole elevation can be opened up to have a real live in-out feel to it, along with the velux windows in the roof these will provide masses of light, internally the ceiling will be vaulted to give an even bigger impact with exposed timber beams. the existing down stairs is also going to be majorly renovated to accommodate a study, games room (garage conversion), utility room, revised living area, and study. the first floor is having walls demolished and new ones built to provide the space the client wants.
Due to the client liking our ideas and work ethic they asked us to include into the brief the conversion of their existing garage to the front of the property to provide space for a games room, in addition to this was the renovation of the second floor dormer. this currently has vertically hung tiles, and provides space for a large bedroom. we have provided a new look to the dormer, along with providing a newly converted part of the roof to be an ensuite to a master bedroom.
The works are due to start imminently. whilst the client wanted a modern feel we also wanted to ensure the extension works did not look out of place on the existing street scene.
